Planning authorities require the potential impacts of a proposed development on the historic environment to be considered prior to planning permission being granted. Worcestershire Archaeology can rapidly research and produce high quality desk-based assessments (DBAs) and cultural heritage chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs). These incorporate local Historic Environment Record information with historic cartographic and documentary evidence, as required. Their purpose is to assess the site’s archaeological potential and impact of the development on the surrounding historic environment. We have undertaken heritage assessments across the country on a wide range of sites, from gardens to Scheduled Ancient Monuments.
